ACM Family Fun Day 2025

A Celebration of Togetherness

On Saturday, July 5, 2025, members of Abia Community Manchester came together with their families for a joyful Family Fun Day — a day filled with laughter, food, games, music, and the spirit of togetherness that defines our community.

The gathering brought together men, women, and children from across Manchester to share an afternoon of relaxation, connection, and cultural pride. The atmosphere was lively, filled with cheerful conversations, laughter, and the irresistible aroma of barbecue grills.

A Feast of Flavours

No Abia event is complete without great food, and this one was no exception. Members prepared and shared a delicious variety of traditional and home-style favourites — from roasted yam, corn, and chicken to assorted delicacies that reminded everyone of home. The barbecue was the heart of the gathering, where people took turns grilling, tasting, and sharing stories.

Fun, Games and Friendly Competition

The highlight of the day was a friendly football match between the men and the women, which brought out plenty of excitement and good-natured competition. Cheers and laughter echoed around as both teams showed off their skills and team spirit. It was less about who won and more about the joy of playing together as one family.

Music, Dance and Togetherness

As the sun began to set, the celebration continued with music and dancing. Members young and old took to the floor, moving to a mix of highlife, afrobeat, and traditional tunes. Children played nearby while parents caught up with old friends and welcomed new members to the Abia family.

A Day to Remember

The 2025 Family Fun Day was more than just a picnic — it was a reminder of the unity, love, and cultural pride that keep the Abia Community Manchester strong. Events like these strengthen our bonds and allow us to share not only our traditions but also the warmth of community life with the next generation.

We extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped organise, cook, play, and participate. Together, we made it a day to remember.
